Privacy Notice
Last updated: October 27, 2026
Indiannie Pet Sitting is a one-person business, and the information you share with me is handled that way: carefully, and only by me. This notice explains what I collect, why, and what happens to it.
I never sell your information, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything other than caring for your pets and running this business.
01Who this notice covers
This applies to indianniepets.com and to information collected when you inquire about, book, or receive pet care from Indiannie Pet Sitting, a sole proprietorship owned by Annie Schumann in West Lafayette, Indiana.
02What I collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Contact details | Name, email address, phone number, home address |
| Pet information | Name, breed, age, feeding and medication routines, behavior notes, medical history, veterinarian |
| Home access | Entry method, alarm or gate codes, lockbox details, parking notes |
| Emergency contacts | Name and phone number of a person authorized to act for you |
| Booking and billing | Dates and services requested, rates, payment method and app handle, payment history |
| Visit records | Photos and notes from visits, arrival and departure times |
I don't collect payment card numbers or bank account details. Payments run through cash or your chosen payment app, and I never see more than the app itself shows me.
03How it reaches me
- Directly from you, by phone call, text, email, or during your consultation
- Through the new client intake questionnaire
- From your veterinarian or emergency contact, if I need to reach them during service
04Why I use it
- To provide care exactly the way your pet is used to
- To get into your home safely at scheduled visits
- To reach you, your vet, or your emergency contact if something goes wrong
- To schedule, quote, invoice, and record payment
- To keep basic business records as required for taxes
05Who else is involved
Running a small business means using a few outside services. Each has its own privacy policy, and I share only what's needed for that service to work:
- Google tools: intake forms, client records, calendar, and payment tracking are stored in a password-protected Google account with two-factor authentication.
- Google Voice: handles business calls, texts, and voicemail.
- Payment apps: Zelle, Venmo, and Cash App process transfers directly between you and me.
- Website hosting: the host may log standard technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and performance.
- Your veterinarian or emergency contact: contacted only when your pet's health or safety requires it.
I may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of a person or animal.
06Cookies and tracking
This website doesn't set advertising cookies or run behavioral tracking. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive basic technical data (such as your IP address) when the page loads. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work.
07Cameras in your home
Many homes have security cameras or smart doorbells, and that's completely fine. Please tell me before service begins if any recording device covers areas where I'll be working. Knowing in advance means we can both be comfortable, and it lets me tell you if a camera captures something useful about your pet's day.
08How your information is protected
- Client records live in a password-protected account with two-factor authentication.
- Physical keys are labeled with a code, never your name or address, and stored securely.
- Access codes are kept separately from client contact details.
- I'm the only person with access to client records. No staff, no subcontractors.
No system is perfectly secure, but I keep the amount of information I hold small on purpose.
09How long it's kept
Active client records are kept while you're using my services and for a reasonable period afterward, in case you return. Billing records are kept as long as tax rules require. Keys and access codes are returned or deleted when service ends. Inquiries that never become bookings are deleted within about a year.
10Your choices
- Ask what information I hold about you and your pets
- Correct anything that's wrong or out of date
- Ask me to delete your records once service has ended and any balance is settled
- Decline the use of your pet's photos, or have existing photos removed
- Ask me to stop contacting you
Just call, text, or email. No forms, no process. I'll respond within a few days.
11Children
My services are arranged with adults, and I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12Changes to this notice
If how I handle information changes, I'll update this page and change the revision date at the top.
